NEWSLETTER Issue # 3. Nov 2011
Hello friends,
Hasn’t the year flown by, already the end of the year! This issue is going to take two pages as I have a lot to tell you!
Maltesefoods actually reached a milestone this month with November being the first anniversary of starting this little business.
I would like to thank all who have supported and encouraged me in this venture and I have to say it has been a pleasure meeting you all. The hardest part for me has been trying to remember all the different Mary’s, Joe’s and Carmen’s!
Making sure I have a wide variety of foods and as fresh as possible, has been a challenge as you can appreciate, everything has to be freighted up from Sydney or Melbourne.
Some exciting news is that Alex and I are now baking our beautiful pastizzi at the markets and I love to see people trying and enjoying our favourite snack for the first time! People who have visited Malta have fond memories of their holiday and of our pastizzi !
We are at the Jan Powers Powerhouse Markets at New Farm, every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, the next one is the 26 November. Come and say hello!
For those of you who don’t know, there is a terrific website called allmalta.com you will find lots of information here about Malta, and there is a box called ‘Ahbarijiet mill-Awstralja’ – News from Australia, by Lawrence Dimech. Click on this as he has regular newsletters about what is happening in the Maltese community in Australia. It is in Maltese but you can click a link to read it in English.
Now for the PICNICS this month and the next which will be the last ones for the year –

Always remember at the picnics, to look for the BIG MALTESE FLAG then you won’t miss them!
From peoples response to my question last newsletter, walking through the historical and architectural streets of Valletta was the most favourite place to visit on Malta, with Mdina and the Blue Grotto trip at Wied is-Zurrieg coming in at a close second.
The west coast of Gozo at the Azure Window and the Inland Sea was my favourite on Gozo, but next time I go I want to visit the Ggantija Temples. Has anyone been there?
